Highlighting CES's Young Artists

Kindergarten created silly sea-scapes in February.

They used crayon resist techniques with watercolors.

1st Grade created stained glass by cutting small shapes

from black paper and then gluing cellophane into the

windows. This should add color to the walls!

2nd Grade learned all about the French Painter, Henri

Rousseau and his jungle themed paintings.  They created

a 3 layer jungle and hid their animals to show how some

animals can try to camouflage themselves in their natural

environment.

3rd Graders are learning about Mail, Africa in their classrooms.

They are creating African Malian spirit masks in Art to help

support their Africa and Math SOL's. They used various art

materials such as scissors, markers, beans, macaroni and raffia.

We discussed symmetry to help strengthen their math skills.

4th Grade learned all about Spanish Painter, Pablo

Picasso's cubistic paintings.  They created designs

where two views of the same face could be seen at

the same time.  They creatively colored them with

crayons.

5th Grade artwork coming soon!!!!!!!!!
